Swimming deserves better than a results sheet on a noticeboard.
AquaTrack is a Kenyan product, built for Kenyan school swimming.
Why we built it
AquaTrack started at a school gala in Nairobi, watching parents crane over the rope to read a whiteboard while their children's times were read out once and never seen again. The results existed; they just never reached the people who cared most. We built the thing we wished had been in our own pockets that afternoon.
What we kept coming back to was the gap between the moment a race happens and the moment a parent finds out about it. At most school galas that gap is hours. There is no technical reason for it.
How we handle your child's data
AquaTrack holds information about children, and we treat that as the serious responsibility it is.
A parent is linked to a swimmer only with explicit consent, recorded with a timestamp, in line with Kenya's Data Protection Act and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner's guidance. Consent can be withdrawn. Schools see only their own swimmers. We do not sell data, and we do not share a child's name, times or video with advertisers or other parents.
If you have a question about what we hold, write to michael@aquatrack.co.ke and a person will answer you.
Who's behind it
AquaTrack is built by Michael Chege in Nairobi. It's a small operation on purpose — if you email, you get Michael.
See it before you commit
We'll walk you through the app on a real gala's results in about fifteen minutes, on a call or at your pool.
